Medical Officer Dr. Anastasios Milkas, M.D. PhD
Currently, Medical Officer Dr. Anastasios Milkas, M.D. PhD is Interventional Cardiologist and specialized in the physiology of the coronary vessels and the latest intravascular imaging techniques (IVUS, OCT, FFR). After completing his specialization of Cardiology at the First University Clinic of Cardiology, he worked as a registrar at the Athens Naval Hospital, and as the head of the Coronary Care Unit.
Subsequently, he specialized in invasive cardiology at the OLV Hospital (Brussels, Belgium), under the supervision of the internationally renowned cardiologist Bernard De Bruyne and the president of the European Society of Invasive Cardiology, Emanuele Barbato.
During his training abroad, he was granted the Certificate of Excellence by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) in the field of invasive cardiology.
The main object of his specialization was the physiology of the coronary vessels and endovascular imaging. The purpose of this retraining is the appropriate selection of patients with coronary heart disease who require invasive revascularization, in order for coronary artery invasive procedures to be optimized.
